Magic people
Magic People are a modern rock band based in Boston, Massachusetts. They eschew the guitar in favor of futuristic keyboards, and their songs bend toward angular cries of anxiety leavened with beauteous flights of fancy. The band is fronted by a winking maniac who forgoes traditional singing with proclamations that have more in common with fire and brimstone than with rhythm and blues. The experimental nature of the band is rooted in a meticulously sloppy rhythm section, which can appeal to the mind and thighs in equal proportions, and always aims to excite a youthful ear.
Vortex rex
Vortex Rex ist eine actionorientierte Band aus Wien. Aus dem Dunstkreis der grandiosen Labels Fettkakao und seayou entstiegen, mauserten sich Vortex Rex zu einheimischen Kritikerlieblingen und ganz nebenbei zur Speerspitze, was die Schnittstelle von Noise, No-Wave und Lo-Fi Electronica betrifft. In 2 Jahren veröffentlichete sie ein Album und 2 eps und spielten ca. 90 konzerte in ganz Europa (darunter 2 Elnglandtouren). 2005 supporteten sie The Gossip auf ihren Deutschland- und Österreichkonzerten.Vortex Rex zappelt zwischen Anleihen der frühen Modest Mouse, Sonic Youth und FIRE-HOSE umher, verfällt kurz dilettantischem Anti-Folk, um wenige Sekunden später in derbes Punkgewitter auszubrechen. Es geht nicht um Härte, Vortex Rex spielt vielmehr Schlaff- und Knuddel-Core. Ein Highlight, das klar macht.
